Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux confirmed that they are getting a divorce in a surprise announcement.
A surprise Statement
A statement was released by Aniston’s longtime publicist in an effort to reduce any further speculation and rumors, saying they are parting their ways after two and a half years of marriage and seven years together as a couple. The decision was mutual, lovingly made by two best friends at the end of 2017.
“Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly” the couple said in the statement.
“Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
They have been separated for few weeks now and will file for divorce any time soon. The source close to the couple revealed that they have been struggling for months prior the decision since Justin only wanted to live in NYC and Jen couldn’t compromise on that.
Both have been busy professionally with Jennifer signing for a new Apple TV series with Reese Witherspoon and Theroux filming the comedy “The Spy Who Dumped Me in Budapest”. Their lifestyles were incompatible due to their work engagements and the distance did the work.
Before the announcement of their split, Aniston 48, and Theroux 46, seemed very happy despite their frequent time apart during the work, but apparently that time apart took a toll on their relationship, leaving both of them with the eventual task of splitting their assets.
They both have made considerable amounts of money while they were together and it’s not clear whether they had signed a prenuptial agreement. Like most high-profile celebrity divorces, it is likely their respective business managers will handle the settlement. According to Forbes, Aniston is one of the highest paid actresses in the world with $16.5 in 2015, $21 million in 2016 and $25.5 million in 2017.
The now- exes got engaged in August 2012 and got married in a secret wedding in August 2015. They both seem to have move on from their failed marriage with the support of their friends and family.
